Chocolate Covered Valentine Pretzel Rods

Sharing is caring!

These Chocolate Covered Valentine Pretzel Rods are the perfect bite of sweet and salty. I make a batch of these during Valentine's Day and use them to decorate my dessert charcuterie boards.

One of my favorite things to do right before Valentine's Day is to make treats to give to my family and friends. I love showering them with chocolates, sweets, and fun gifts.

This year, I made a huge batch of these Chocolate Covered Valentine Pretzel Rods for my family to enjoy with dinner. They were a hit!

This post was originally published on February 8, 2015 and has been recently updated with new photos.

To make these, you really only need three ingredients — pretzel rods, melting chocolate in your choice of colors, and Valentine Sprinkles.

Now if you are like me, you like to kick things up a notch. Because of this, we added things like marshmallows and such but you can also add in chopped nuts or sliced almonds.

How to Make Chocolate Covered Valentine Pretzels

Start by melting your chocolate. For this, we chose to use pink candy melts, but you can use any color you want.

You melt them the same way you melt any other.

Once you have your chocolates melted, simply dip them in the melted chocolate, then drizzle with another colored if preffered, and then sprinkle with your Valentine sprinkles and chopped almonds.

When you are done, place them all on a foiled lined tray and pop them in the freezer for just a few minutes to let the chocolate harden.

Once they harden, they can stay out a room temperature. You can put them in cute little tins like this one and wrap them in cellophane to give to a friend.

Or you can do like we did, and find a cute heart shaped serving tray and lay them out for your family to grab one whenever they want. The possibilities on ways to display these are endless.

Here's the recipe! Hope you enjoy making and eating these as much as I did.
