If you’re anything like me, you love starting your morning with something refreshing, healthy, and (let’s be honest) Instagram-worthy. That’s exactly what this Dragonfruit Smoothie delivers!
Bright pink, super creamy, and packed with nutrients, this smoothie is as fun to drink as it is to make. Kayla whipped this up on a warm spring morning, and now it’s become one of my favorite go-to breakfasts or post-workout pick-me-ups. You can also use this DragonFruit Syrup to sweeten it to taste as well.

Whether you’ve seen dragonfruit at the grocery store and weren’t sure what to do with it, or you're a smoothie lover looking to change things up, this recipe is calling your name!
What is Dragonfruit?
Also known as pitaya, dragonfruit is a tropical fruit that’s mildly sweet and super hydrating. The bright pink variety makes smoothies look like something straight out of a fairytale. Not only is it beautiful, but it’s loaded with antioxidants, vitamin C, and fiber.
You can use fresh or frozen dragonfruit for this recipe, but I love using the frozen smoothie packs you can find in the freezer section—they’re convenient and give the smoothie a thicker texture.

Dragonfruit Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen dragonfruit cubes
- 1 banana (preferably frozen for extra creaminess)
- 1/2 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup coconut water or almond milk (adjust for desired consistency)
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (optional, for added creaminess and protein)
- 1 tsp honey
- A handful of ice (optional)
Optional Toppings
- Chia seeds
- Fresh berries
- Coconut flakes
- Granola
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender.
- Blend until smooth and creamy, adjusting the liquid as needed to reach your desired consistency.
- Pour into a glass or bowl and top with your favorite smoothie toppings.
- Snap a pic (because look at that color!) and enjoy!
Tips for the Best Dragonfruit Smoothie
- Use frozen fruit to keep the smoothie cold and thick without watering it down.
- No banana? Avocado works great for creaminess without changing the flavor much.
- Add greens like spinach for an extra nutrient boost, though it may tone down the pink color.
- Want a smoothie bowl instead? Just reduce the liquid slightly for a spoonable consistency.
