These Valentine Sugar Cookies — No Spread, No Chill are designed specifically for anyone who has struggled with sugar cookies not being able to be decorated. The dough holds sharp edges, bakes evenly, and is sturdy enough to support detailed royal icing work — but still tastes soft, buttery, and delicious.

Tips for No-Spread Success
✔ Don’t over-cream butter and sugar
✔ Roll dough evenly so cookies bake uniformly
✔ Use parchment paper instead of flouring surfaces (prevents dry dough)
✔ Bake one tray at a time for best shape retention
Storage
Store baked cookies in an airtight container:
- Room temperature: up to 5 days
- Freeze undecorated cookies: up to 2 months
Make Ahead Tips
You can:
- Make dough 2 days ahead and refrigerate
- Freeze cut, unbaked shapes and bake from frozen (add 1–2 minutes bake time)
