So let me show you how to make these super simple slider sandwiches.
How to Make BLT Sliders Recipe
For this recipe, you need the following ingredients —
- 12 Pack Slider Rolls or Hawaiian rolls
- 12 Slices Cooked Thick Bacon, halved
- ¾ Cups Mayonnaise
- 2 juicy Tomatoes, sliced to about ⅛ of an inch (I prefer Roma tomatoes)
- fresh lettuce like Shredded Iceberg Lettuce or green leaf lettuce
- 12 Cherry Tomatoes (optional)
- 12 Small Pieces of Kale (optional)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Slice the sliders horizontally to separate the tops and bottoms. Toast in the oven on a baking sheet for 5-7 minutes or until the buns are golden brown.
Once the buns are removed from the oven, lay the tops of the buns down and add about 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise to the underside of each bun. Alternatively, you can just use a knife and spread it all over the underside if you’re in a hurry. Works just fine both ways.
Place one slice of tomato on each bottom bun, or more if you’re a tomato lover. Sprinkle on a little salt and black pepper. I like to slice my tomatoes with a serrated knife. It makes for better slices.
Place bacon slices on top of each tomato, side by side. I use two per slider. You can cook the bacon however you like. Sometimes I fry mine in the microwave on a paper towel-lined plate and then other times I fry it in a large skillet over medium heat.
Layer the bottom buns with the shredded lettuce (however much suits your fancy). If you are using green leaf, tear lettuce into chunks big enough for each slider.
Place the top buns onto the bottom buns.
Use a toothpick or a small bamboo skewer with one cherry tomato and a piece of kale to garnish each sandwich. Gently separate the sandwiches before serving for easier grabbing and enjoying!
Tips:
- Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days. I do not suggest freezing as the lettuce and tomato don't come out with the same texture and can be quite gross.
- For better color, texture, and flavor on the buns, butter both sides before toasting.
- Thick-cut bacon is the best option as it adds the perfect amount of bacon without having to pile it high, on each slider. Piling things too high on sliders can make for a mess.
- Try adding some caramelized onions to the sliders.
- Feel free to choose whichever type of lettuce you prefer.
- Don’t like mayo? Skip it or add your favorite condiment like barbecue sauce or honey mustard in its place.
- If desired, sprinkle a pinch of salt over the tomatoes for a boost in flavor!
- Want to make a more Keto-friendly bite? Switch the bread out for a hard-boiled egg. BLT Egg sliders are all the rage right now.
