But what if you are just wanting to get it and be done with it? Where do you buy eel sauce online?
Where Can I Buy Eel Sauce?
Here are 5 of my favorite places to buy eel sauce when I do not want to make it from scratch.
#1 Amazon
Amazon sells a “Sushi Sauce” which is basically the same thing as Eel Sauce. If you are gluten-free, they also sell a gluten-free Eel Sauce as well.
#2 Walmart
Walmart sells Kikkoman Unagi sauce — and if you did not know this, Unagi sauce and eel sauce are the exact same thing.
#3 Target
Target also sells the Kikkoman Unagi sauce brand as well. If you go in the store, look for it on the aisle with the Asian foods.
#4 MTC Kitchen
MTC Kitchen sells an authentic eel sauce brand that is very inexpensive and it looks like if you sign up for their email newsletter, you get an extra 10% off your order.
#5 Webstaurant Store
I love being able to buy sauces in bulk so when I found out the Webstaurant Store sells this in a 5-pound jug, I thought I would share it with you too.
What is Eel Sauce?
Eel Sauce is also called Natsume, Unagi or Kabayaki. It is a sweet and salty sauce that goes great over grilled fish or chicken and is a common drizzle over sushi.
Traditionally it is used on Japanese grilled eel and eel rolls. I also use this sauce over freshly cooked noodles for a quick snack.
