Want to bump up those delicious steak and chicken dinners? This easy chimichurri sauce is perfect for that!
My herb garden has exploded in the last month! I have been cutting back and sharing with friends and family and I still have a ton of herbs. Because of so many growing right now, I am looking for all kinds of recipes to share with you that use them up. This one for easy chimichurri is perfect — both in taste and because it uses a few of my favorite herbs!
How to Make Easy Chimichurri Sauce
This sauce is simple and easy – and even if you don't have a flourishing herb garden in your backyard like I do, you can still make this with fresh herbs from the grocery store.
For this recipe, you are going to need flat leaf parsley and fresh oregano. You can make this with dried herbs as well, but it does not carry the same flavor as fresh herbs.
On a cutting board, you are going to mince parsley, oregano, and 2 cloves of garlic.
Add them to a bowl and then add in 1/2 cup of olive oil and 1/4 cup of red wine vinegar.
Next, add in salt, pepper, honey, and crushed red pepper. Mix well together and then serve over your favorite piece of meat. For me, that is a beautiful skirt steak!
This chimichurri sauce is so simple and versatile to make. It makes everything taste better and the best part? If you grow your own herb garden, it costs pennies to make this easy sauce.
If you like grilled chicken or grilled pork, you can serve this over those two cuts of meat as well.
I make a bigger batch of it and keep it in the fridge to use on salads, meats, and more! The tangy flavor from the vinegar really makes the flavor profile of a grilled skirt steak really sing.
