Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower

Sharing is caring!

This Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower wings recipe will knock you off your socks! Tastes as good as any fried chicken bites you get. The only difference is that you are stuffing your face with good-for-you veggies!

They’re a great healthy alternative to buffalo chicken wings loaded with flavor and make the perfect appetizer! These would be perfect for game day!

When my daughter and I decided to start changing our eating habits, one of the first things we did was look for amazing veggie dishes. These dishes had to taste similar to some of the foods we were going to be changing out. That is how we ran upon this one for Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower. It's a simple recipe that you are going to love making!

These little bites are crispy and crunchy and so very good! The air fryer keeps them grease-free for the perfect healthy little bite of goodness!

Why Should I Make Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower Bites?

One reason that I love making these is because they look like boneless wings, but they’re nutritious vegetables loaded with vitamins and minerals. Even the pickiest of eaters might even give these a try.

This recipe uses a handful of ingredients and is ready in less than 30 minutes. Combine flour mixture and other ingredients with the cauliflower florets and coat them well.

Then, toss them in Panko in another large mixing bowl before throwing the coated cauliflower bites in the air fryer basket. Make sure to put them in a single layer and air fry until golden brown. While they are baking, make your sauce, and BOOM! You have the best recipe you will ever make.

If you are eating a vegetarian diet, this is a great option for you. You can choose regular appetizers like sausage balls and air fryer chicken wings if this recipe does not suit your taste buds!

Let me tell you though — even if you are a cauliflower hater, I would bet that you would like these little golden nuggets of goodness.

Recipe Tips to Make Crispy Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients —

  • 3/4 cup of flour of your choice (all-purpose flour, chickpea, gluten-free, coconut, almond flour, etc)
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup of Frank's Red hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter or olive oil (you can also use vegan butter for this recipe)
  • 1/2 cup of panko bread crumbs
  • 1 head of fresh cauliflower (or a bag of pre-cut cauliflower florets)
  • salt and pepper to taste

The key to making these buffalo cauliflower bites crunchy is to coat them in panko bread crumbs before cooking. Then, I spray them with a little cooking spray before placing them in the air fryer.

If you do not have an air fryer, you can place them on a baking sheet and bake them in the oven.

If you want the bites to have extra buffalo sauce, you can drizzle the cooked bites in my favorite buffalo sauce before serving, which is what we do. These little low carb bites have a ton of flavor.

Serve with your favorite sauce in a small bowl as a main dish or a side dish. We made a batch of my homemade ranch dressing, except we subbed out the mayo for Greek yogurt to make it a creamy dip. You can also serve it with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks or a spicy sauce if you prefer it more.

Store the leftover cooked cauliflower in an airtight container. Reheat in the air fryer to crisp them back up.

I love spicy cauliflower so much! It is better, to me, than buffalo chicken.
