How to Make Caramel Apple Slices on a Stick
To make caramel apple slices on a stick, simply slice your apples into about 1/2 inch thick. You want to make sure they are wide enough that your sticks will hold the apples up.

I got these fun sticks from Sweets & Treats Boutique.

Now, lay your apples out on a cutting board or plate. This is where the magic happens! You can literally layer them with anything. For these apples, I didn't want a thick caramel, so I chose to use Torani Caramel Sauce in the jar to drizzle them with.

I then topped them with my delicious homemade hot fudge sauce and some of the leftover granola I had made. We did one with nuts, then we topped another with Apple Cider Sprinkles from Sweets & Treats Boutique, and the last one, we topped with granola to give it like an apple crumble feel.

Now, give them to the kiddos to enjoy while they take a break and prepare for homework time. These apples are so delicious and the kids will feel like they are at the fair!
Tips for the Best Apple Slices
- Dry the apples well so the caramel sticks better.
- Slice apples just before serving to keep them looking fresh.
- If making ahead, lightly brush the cut apples with lemon juice to reduce browning.
- Chill for 10–15 minutes after decorating if you prefer the toppings to set firmly.
- Place parchment paper underneath while decorating for easy cleanup.
Fun Topping Ideas
One of the best parts of this recipe is creating your own combinations!
Try these favorites:

- S'mores: Mini marshmallows + crushed graham crackers
- Cookie Lover: Crushed Oreos
- Apple Pie: Granola + cinnamon
- Birthday Cake: Rainbow sprinkles
- Chocolate Lover: Mini chocolate chips + chocolate drizzle
- Salted Caramel: Sea salt + chopped pecans

Variations
White Chocolate Apple Slices
Swap the fudge sauce for melted white chocolate.
Peanut Butter Apple Slices
Add a drizzle of melted peanut butter before the caramel.
Candy Apple Style
Top with crushed hard candies or colorful sanding sugar.
Healthier Version
Skip the chocolate and use caramel with chopped granola for a lighter treat.
How to Store
These are best enjoyed fresh.
If you need to make them ahead:
- Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.
- Place parchment paper between layers.
- Apples may begin to brown slightly after the first day, so they're best served soon after assembling.

This is such a good idea- a whole caramel apple is too much for little ones and hard to eat frankly! This idea seems so much better and you get more of that caramel and toppings!
