This pimento cheese recipe is our absolute favorite and so easy to make.
I am a lover of pimento cheese. Seriously — I could eat it on everything under the sun. In fact, not too long ago, I made a delicious Pimento Cheese Cheeseburger which turned out to be one of the best things I ever made.
I stopped buying this store bought when I realized that I could make homemade pimento cheese — right in the comfort of my own kitchen.
Honestly I don’t know why I waited so long to make this from scratch. I used to have a friend that made it all the time and the flavor and taste were so much better than any I had ever had before.
How to Make Homemade Pimento Cheese Spread
Now, if you are Southern, then you know exactly what a homemade pimento cheese sandwich tastes like with a delicious and fresh homegrown tomato on top. YUM!
Start with all your ingredients. Most of these should be pantry staples, with the exception of pimentos.
Once you get all those ingredients gathered, simply dump them into a bowl for mixing. Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature. It will mix a lot better this way.
Then take a wooden spoon or a rubber spatula and mix it all together. Now — you can eat it at this point, but it gets much better if you place it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours first.
Once you let it rest in the refrigerator, now it’s time to eat it! Grab your favorite bread and load it up.
I also enjoy eating pimento cheese on crackers too. It makes the perfect dip. Or — if you really want to be inspired, you can make these fun Pimento Cheese Bites.
Some other options you can do is simply put it on bread and grill it to have a grilled pimento cheese sandwich or put it on top of a burger as I did.
