How to Make Oven Roasted Corn on the Cob

Sharing is caring!

Want a quick way to make roasted corn without turning on the grill? This simple oven-roasted corn on the cob recipe will help you out tremendously!

Last year when our corn was in abundance, I bought a huge bag full. When you have about 15 pounds of corn to deal with, you learn all you can about different ways to cook it — which is how I came up with this simple and easy way of roasting your corn in the oven.

Oven roasted corn on the cob

I love grilled corn on the cob. Don't get me wrong. It is my absolute favorite. But sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate and I cannot grill it. Now that I know I can get that same flavor just by roasting in the oven, this is my new favorite way!

How to Make Oven-Roasted Corn on the Cob

Roasting ears of corn are incredibly simple, and the best part is the amazing flavor that you get.

First, you need to husk the corn and remove as much of the silk as possible.  have heard that you can microwave the corn for 3 minutes with husks on and the silk and everything slide right off. I have not tried that but think I need to experiment and see if that works!

Rub each ear liberally with softened butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Roast it on a baking sheet (like these I found on Amazon) and then halfway through the cooking time, flip so that the other side can get a simple char on it as well.

To get an even better char, pop them under the broiler until you get it charred to your liking.

TOPPINGS FOR Oven Roasted CORN ON THE COB

Nothing beats a great ear of corn on the cob slathered in butter. However, you can zing it up a notch by adding some of these amazing toppings:

Garlic herb butter

You have to try your corn on the cob with my mouthwatering garlic herb butter.  Plus you can absolutely make the butter ahead of time and try it on other things, like these grilled pork chops.

The next time you are craving yummy corn on the cob, instead of cooking them your usual way, give this super easy oven-roasted method a try!

Oh — and if you have an Instant Pot, then you HAVE to try Four Hats and Frugal's version of Instant Pot Corn on the Cob. I've used this method and it is amazing and the corn comes out so delicious every single time.
