These aren’t your average mozzarella sticks. We’re taking things up a notch by coating them in crushed Flamin’ Hot Cheetos for that signature spicy crunch that keeps everyone coming back for more.

Trust me—once you make these, plain mozzarella sticks just won’t hit the same anymore.

So what do you need to make this Flamin' Hot Cheeto Mozzarella Stick Recipe? Let me show you!

How to Make Flamin' Hot Cheeto Mozzarella Sticks

To make Flamin' Hot Cheeto Mozzarella Sticks, here is what you will need —

Cut all your cheese sticks in half. You can leave them longer if you want long sticks, but we like the smaller ones.

Add the Cheetos to a food processor and blend until finely chopped. Mix the Cheetos and the flour. Set aside.

Beat two eggs in a bowl.

Now, dip the mozzarella sticks in the egg and roll in the Cheetos mix. Dip the eggs again and roll them into the Cheetos.

Place them on a baking tray once coated and freeze for two hours.

After two hours, heat your vegetable oil to 350 and fry for about 3 minutes or until the cheese begins to seep out from the mozzarella sticks.

Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve with marinara sauce on the side.

I like serving this Flamin' Hot Cheeto Mozzarella Stick recipe alongside a burger night. They add the perfect touch for a fun appetizer to share with my family.

Tips for Success

  • ❄️ Always freeze before frying
  • 🔁 Double coat for extra crunch
  • 🌡️ Keep oil at a steady 350°F
  • ⏱️ Don’t over-fry or the cheese will leak out

Can You Air Fry Them?

Yes! For a slightly lighter version:

  • Preheat air fryer to 390°F
  • Spray sticks lightly with cooking spray
  • Air fry for 6–8 minutes

👉 Keep an eye on them—air fryers can vary!

Can You Bake Them?

You can, but they won’t be quite as crispy:

  • Use a wire rack for best results

Make-Ahead & Storage

  • Freeze-coated sticks up to 2 months
  • Fry straight from frozen—no thawing needed
