Blackstone Caramel Popcorn

Sharing is caring!

Make this Blackstone Caramel Popcorn for your next outdoor movie night!

Do you love cooking on your Blackstone Griddle? If so, you will want to keep this recipe close at hand! I have seen TONS of popcorn-making recipes on the Blackstone, but never seen one for Caramel Popcorn. My daughter and I decided to experiment yesterday and it turned out AMAZING! This popcorn is next level!

All you need to make popcorn on the Blackstone is —

  • Vegetable oil (or whatever oil you like to use)
  • popcorn kernels
  • salted caramel sauce
  • popcorn salt for seasoning at the end
  • Griddle dome

Once you get these supplies, making the popcorn is as simple as 1, 2, 3!

How to Make Blackstone Popcorn

Now — if caramel popcorn is not your thing, you can skip that part and make regular salty popcorn on the Blackstone.

If you have a 4-burner Blackstone Griddle, only heat the two left sides to high heat. Leave the two right sides off.

Heat on high and let it come to temperature. Once it comes to temp, place about 1/4 cup of oil on the Blackstone. Add 1/4 cup of popping corn in a single layer and place the dome on top.

Allow it to sit until you begin to hear the kernels pop. Then, move the dome around to keep the popcorn moving. You do not want the popped kernels to burn. When you keep them moving this keeps that from happening.

Once there are no popping sounds, slide the dome over to the right side where there is no heat. Remove the dome and allow the popcorn to sit while you prepare the caramel sauce portion.

If you are making regular popcorn, just drizzle on some melted butter. But if you want to up the game, make it a caramel popcorn.

On the left side, turn the heat down to low and allow the heat to get to temp. Place 1 teaspoon of oil on the griddle and add 1/4 cup of salted caramel sauce. If you want your kernels completely coated, add more caramel sauce, or you can even add a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar.

Allow the caramel sauce to heat just a bit, then bring the popcorn back to the heated left side. Use the spatulas to toss the popcorn in the caramel sauce. It will seem sticky at first but as it cools, the caramel will harden on the popcorn.

Remove from the heat by sliding it back to the right and then scoop it up and put it in a large bowl. If you like it extra coated, throw on some of your favorite caramel toppings for added flavor. You could even make bacon popcorn by adding some cooked bacon to the mix. Enjoy!

Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons of oil ( I use vegetable)
  • 1/4 cup of popping corn
  • 1/4 cup of salted caramel sauce
  • Popcorn salt if needed

Instructions

  1. Heat the left side of the griddle on high. Allow it to come to temperature.

On the griddle add the oil and the popcorn kernels. Use the spatula to move them around and place them in a single layer. Place the griddle dome over the kernels and let it sit until you hear the kernels begin to pop.

Once the kernels begin to pop, move the dome around continuously so that the popped kernels do not burn.

Once you hear almost no popping sound, slide the popcorn to the right side of the griddle which should be off.

Turn the heat on the left side down to low and allow it to come to temperature.

Add 1 tablespoon of oil and 1/4 of salted caramel sauce to the griddle and allow it to heat.

Move the popcorn back to the left side and use the spatulas to toss the popcorn in the caramel mixture.

Once the popcorn is as coated as you like, move it back to the right side and scoop it into a bowl.

Enjoy@
